WHO WE ARE

Who is Alford Media? To understand us you have to understand where we’ve been. We are a group of dedicated professionals who bring together years of individual experience in the audio-video industry in order to provide solutions for our customers. We have a saying, "Anyone can rent gear, we are about People".

Incorporated in 1989 by veterans of the industry, Alford Media began in Dallas as an Audio-Visual Staging Company specializing in multi-media presentations. Curiously enough, back then multi-media just meant slides and audio. The video revolution began almost immediately as we made the decision to be the best, not necessarily the biggest, audio-visual service provider in the country. As new technology and challenges came about, Alford Media’s people resource found the best technical solutions and implemented them for our clients. Never burdened with an awkward corporate bureaucracy, Alford was able to act quickly as the changes in our business unfolded.

In our rookie year we staged the first multi-screen HDTV presentation ever. As a result, we became the largest supplier of CRT projectors in the country. We quickly found ourselves staging shows around the country and internationally. As we met other professionals who shared our philosophies, our little group quickly grew. In our third year we began our Audio department. And by our fourth year we held our first internal conference bringing all our staff and freelance technicians together to improve our service. This unique event has been repeated every two years and is the cornerstone of our growth. Soon an Atlanta office opened to service our growing client base there. The next year we began our West Coast operation based in the Los Angeles area. In our ninth year we started our Lighting department.

Our growth was recognized when we were named one of the 100 fastest growing corporations in Dallas three times. In 1997 we were honored as the Outstanding Family Owned Business in Texas by the Family Institute of Baylor University. Alford Media has won the Rental & Staging Systems Award for Best Overall Staging for a Corporate or Association Event for three years in a row from 2004 through 2006 and was awarded the Spotlight Award from Event Solutions Magazine for Technical Support Company of the Year in 2006.
